What's inside that geodesic dome built to house the Spruce Goose back in the 80's? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hi Kevin, I think that is now used for passengers for Carnival Cruise Lines. I did see a HAL ship there last week, it was going to Alaska I'm sure. But, at the very end..outside is a long pier. When you click into the webcam. Especially on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays....you'll see mostly Carnival. When I stayed aboard the QUEEN MARY for 3 lovely days this year. The ship from Carnival that sat there on Friday is the CARNIVAL PARADISE. I'm sure she is there on Monday as well. Not sure which Carnival ship is there on Saturday, I do know it's huge. And I'm happy you both loved the shot.

Half of the interior of the dome is a cruise terminal. There is a full check-in suite, baggage hall, and CBP suites. It is owned by Carnival Corporation but is run as an independent port/terminal. There is a multi-story parking garage and early check-in lounge on board Queen Mary aswell.

The other half is empty. It was used as a sound stage for a few movies but isn't used much any more.
Its interesting to note that as the structure is a geodesic dome, no internal structure can use the dome as support so all of the internal structure comprising offices, check-in area, escalators, customs and immigration suites etc etc are all free standing and do not append the interior parts of the dome.
