The cruise line Abou Merhi Cruises is doing a comeback. It is now clear they have bought VISTAMAR and renamed the ship ORIENT QUEEN II.

After arriving to Tenerife at the end of February from her last cruise for Plantours VISTAMAR was laid up in Crotone, Italy. On the 19th of May she departed Crotone with Beirut as destination. On 22th of May VISTARMAR arrived to Beirut and has been slightly renovated before she started her cruising season on the 9th of July from Lebanon. 7-night cruises out of Beirut visit Limassol, Rhodes, Mykonos, Bodrum and Marmaris. Also shorter 3- and 4-night cruises to Marmaris and Rhodes are part of her summer program. The first season will continue at least until the middle of October.

I have a fair few photos from a week ago. I will get around to putting them online sometime, but the absence of the yellow stripe works wonders. She is still something of an odd vessel looking vessel. She appeared to have quite a number of passengers aboard.

Here are the photos in Rhodes. This must have been the first port of call on her 2nd cruise for Abou Merhi. She does not look quite like their renderings, with no blue stripe, but still a lot better than as Vistamar with that yellow. {note she has a '2' behind the funnel but 'II' elsewhere}.

Does anyone know what the situation is with Plein Cap? Vistamar is not shown there.

If you look at Equasis by the way, it appears to be a charter rather than a sale. She is owned by some shell company in Germany (AML Ship Management GMBH in Hamburg).

Plein Cap used the MS Expedition this year and next year will charter the FTI BERLIN for 6 cruises, and apparently they have an agreement with FTI Cruises for subsequent years.
