No Way! Like Frosty said they are too expensive as far as pictures go.
I just take my camera along with me and thats that.

I wonder how much effort it would take for the cruise lines to download and store over a hundred thousand pictures every week, maintain strict client confidentiality, establish an access point (website), method of download and payment, and then go back and delete the originals within a specific timeframe so that they don't use up storage space indefinitely.
And then most people may not have a proper photo printer at home that would print a picture in the same quality as aboard ship, so they may just leave it in digital form or download it to their phone or another website for printing anyway.
I as a single traveler probably had a dozen pictures taken of me by the ships photographer last year, even though I only bought four of them. And yes, they are expensive, but to me it was worth every dollar. I actually trust the ships photographers more than I do a stranger with my camera, one that may or may not have an eye for photography.
I do avoid having pictures taken that I know for a fact I won't buy, like the stupid pirate in the MDR pictures and the formal night poses with silly backdrops. I do weigh heavily the cost of the pictures and their importance to me, then make sure I buy them before the last day of the cruise.
I wonder if more people would actually buy them post-cruise? I wonder if the same 'feeling' would be there, that of being on the ship in mid-vacation as opposed to being back home and back in your old routine?
Here's one of me last year, and I'm glad I paid the money for it. No, not a perfect picture, but a really great memory...

I think that the storage/online access issues could be circumvented if the photographers actually just did one simple thing: give you access to the soft copy version on board if you buy the print.
I can't imagine that there would be much revenue leakage (and maybe they could increase the cost of the print by a dollar or so to allow for this) as I'm sure that the overwhelming majority of purchases will be of a one-off copy of each image. Indeed, if they just priced the photos accordingly and then offered a soft copy (BYO media, possibly?), they might even garner enough goodwill to sell more photos than they currently do.
We always bypass the "boarding" picture and tell the photographer "no thank you" when and if they come around to the table.
