Now the latest trend are cruise line apps for smart phones. In fact I would say cruise lines are a little behind in this regard, as only a handful currently have them. The capability varies, but none of the apps to my knowledge are advanced enough to allow booking and paying for a cruise, or even reviewing your reservation. I have no doubt this capability will eventually be a reality.
So far, the only cruise line apps I know of are:
Royal Caribbean CostaCelebrityTUI Cruises (Mein Schiff)
Of the four, I think TUI offers the richest content and is the most slick. I love the fact you can view an entire brochure or just look at sections. You can also review beautiful photos of the ship and even panoramic views. The former GALAXY sure does look awesome!
Celebrity and Royal Caribbean seem more geared to finding that perfect itinerary, and less about the actual ships although there is ship content as well. Some of it is generic even though the individual ships are listed.
Costa seems fairly focused on the ships, and their app also features 360 degree views, although the interface is not as slick as TUI.
It's a little surprising that Carnival doesn't have an app yet as they were one of the first with an Internet site.
I would imagine lines like Carnival, NCL, Princess, Holland America, and MSC Cruises will have smart phone apps soon.
Has anyone else had experience using cruise line apps, or have I missed any?

I do agree that cruise lines are slow to the tech game but you know what, that just the way it is in the maritime industry. Its an incredibly conservative, non-progressive, industry. In fact i'd say the cruise ind. are the most tech savvy. due solely to their incredible need for marketing and customer satisfaction. I work in container logistics and dealing with some if these lines and their websites can be a dreadful experiance._greg
