It happens with Carnival (Mardi Gras?) too, this one because as a holiday in Brazil is very searched, so it haves the biggest fares.
Well, in the Christma's cruise the main difference is that there are lot's os families together, is a very nice cruise for that, in addition the christmas trees and the decoration creates a cool athmosphere aboard.
In the evenig they delivered in each cabin a Costa gift (usually something in Sterling Silver) plus an Italian "Panettone" (traditional sweet bread with fruits, very very nice ). The Dinner is traditional too, with food like turkey and so on.
During all cruise you can hear the lovely christma's songs and the major part of the crew wear Santa's Hats.
It's a really good feel, very differente from any other cruise, much better than the new year's.
I hope that i helped with something.

Despite the obvious shroud of gloom because of 9/11, the crew did a remarkable job of keeping everyone upbeat and, as it turned out, it was one of the best Thanksgivings we've ever had. Turkey, stuffing, etc. was most excellent.
