The Paquet brand is to be revived this summer using Costa Allegra, to be marketed in France under the name "Allegra."

TMR, once charterer of the Norway (ex-France) and a couple of the ex-Renaissance "R" class, has been chosen for the brand re-launch.

TMR opened their new site for these voyages last Thursday:

Knowing that the original brand core market is now essentially composed of dead people, and that, judging from their website, they intend to target this public, I can't help being doubting about this venture.

But I wish them good luck anyway.

Paquet really knows their demographic!

All that Concorde/SS France stuff in the brochure is a bit revisionist. Much of Paquet's business was actually in the Caribbean as Paquet Ulysses, which became Dolphin Cruises, which was bought out by Premier, who is well known in some circles for hosting the original Goth Cruises.

So, their traditional audience isn't dead, just... really, really pale.

TMR France is one of the most professional tour operators around the globe. They know very well this business and together with their loyal clientele, I'm sure they will run this project with great success. I have been their tour operator in Greece some years ago and I can asure you that it's really a preasure working for them. Good luck TMR!!
