Kristina Cruises is replacing the wonderful Kristina Regina with the less-wonderful THE IRIS, most recently in service with Israel's Mano Cruises and built in 1982 as the Soviet cruise-ferry KONSTANTIN SIMONOV. She will be renamed KRISTINA KATARINA.

They were forced to get rid of Kristina Regina as she wont pass safety regulations in the future. Kristina Regina has too much wood in her interior that she wont be allowed to cruise on international waters anymore.
What a shame

My wild guess she will be bought to Croatia and start doing domestic cruises there.

All the best to Kristina Cruises though

Ship looks ugly from outside but seems quite nice from inside. Its quite big (hehe I know this sounds funny) for Kristina Cruises if it is aimed only for Finnish markets when sailing on abroad. I wonder if they will start marketing also for example in Sweden.

News say that Kristina Regina will be placed as a hotel / museum to river of Turku. They say deal has been made but personally I have difficulties to believe there is strong business case for the project.

But better Turku than Alang

Being such a small cruise ship, it may work. It is ashame the gorgeous Stella Polaris never completed her trip home to Europe for a similar use.

Kristina Cruises has ceased operations and hopes possibility for company reorganization.

They claim or hope to start cruises again in the end of March 2014.

Hope they manage to survive.

P.S. Kristina Regina ended to Turku and I think the project had financial problems but it is still there. At some point they sold the cabins which allowed right to use the cabin as a flat. Most of the cabins works as hotel or hostel rooms.

Thank you for that Peter. Very sad. I had read not long ago a report on the losses incurred running KRISTINA KATERINA, but I can't find it online now

Here is the press release on Kristina Cruises' site and a news report. Hopefully they will be able to reorganise, but the problem is that people may not be willing to book next year's sailings under the circumstances.

So some people are living aboard BORE permanently? Or do people use the purchased permanent cabins as holiday homes?

I don't think anyone lives at Bore permanently ; even tough it could be possible.

The cabins were quite small.

I think they are mainly used as an option for hotel for those who visits the city often. Not sure if anyone actually bought the cabins.

Kristina Katarina was sold to FleetPro Ocean (ex International Shipping Partners).

Kristina Cruises will continue as tour operator for other cruise lines.

The ex ' Kristina Katarina ' has been chartered under her new name of ' Ocean Endeavour ' for use in the Uk Scottish Shetland islands as an accommodation ship at Lerwick for use by workers on the Petrovav gas project.

The charter is at present for six months but could be extended.

The ship sailed about 18.15 hrs on the 18th January 2014 from the Spanish canary island port of Las Palmas where she had been laid up.
