Two days ago I got as close a as could to the drydock to see her. I saw that she wasnt at a pier so we watched were she was going and sure enough she was backing into a dry-dock and it was cool to see it back into the dry-dock with so much precision.

Shame Princess don't seem to be taking pics etc and putting them on their website as they did for Dawn.

Is Sea P having the Sanctuary added ? Also has anyone seen the Dawn with the Sanctuary added, the pics I have seen of her since refit don't really show anything - I am curious as to how the new shades over the area look and if it changes her profile at all.

They should make a plan and add a proper alternative restaurant to these ships.

Mike I have to agree with you, though by a very wide margin the Sea Princess is my favourite Princess ship, the lack of a real Sterling steak house was a bit of a blow for us.

Other than that we really did like her, not having the extra deck(s) certainly helped.

Cp and Ocean P 1 are my favorites as well.

My first trip on Cp they were just testing the Sterling Steakhouse idea out - they did it 5 nights a cruise and it was outside by the grill overlooking the pool (weather permitting of course), they had special unbrellas and brought out proper furniture with the linen candles etc and roped it all off - a real treat, by my next trip on her it had moved indoors - no where near as nice although they did move a table outside just for us when we asked but you feel a bit of a clam all on your own.

They could easily make better use of the pizza place on these ships. Turn it into a a full Italian...

I heard that Princess and National Geographic are doing a very detailed photo journal of the the drydocking, so keep looking for some coverage. Apparently a remote camera has been mounted that is taking photos at set intervals on a timer as well.

SUn Princess is due for its drydock in Brisbane after the Australian summer season. At this time all 3 Sun-class ships still with Princess will be upgraded.

There has not been much info about how successful the upgrades on DP are. Since its upgrade it has done a short 7 day cruise then commenced a 105 day RTW cruise from Sydney which is ongoing. I have read a couple of brief comments that say MUTS is good but that the Sanctuary area was not widely used (AUD30.00!!!) and it isn't that private anyway.

We have been on the CP a three times.

The sterling room on here was a major let down, in fact on the last cruise we walked out, the service was a joke, when asked by the F&B guy I ran down a whole list of things that went wrong. We walked before the steaks had come out btw which was close to an hour and a half after we sat down, not being rushed is good, being ignored, that isn't going to fly. Yes moving it into thwe buffett area was not a good move in my book.

Other than that and the beds, I like Princess.

The Sterling Steakhouse does leave something to be desired - I have had mixed experiences myself, but the Crown Grill being added and already on the larger ships is excellent! I hope that concept will be expended to all ships eventually. I personally enjoyed it more then Sabittini's (sp) which also good, especially if you like seafood.

The new beds are MUCH improved. We had a replacement bed on the Crown (not all the rooms were done yet) and it was a marked improvement.
