Hi Jeff

It will not be Mona Lisa as she is on her other charter.

It remains to be seen what ship the Japanese Peace Movement use but after the breakdowns the last time they used Clipper Pacific I doubt if they would charter her again unless they are not paying for the use of the ship !

To Jeff,

As Bob posted, Name of the ship not shown in English page but Clipper Pacific is to be used in Japanese page until now.

Mona Lisa is scheduled to return to Yokohama on April 19th though Next Peace Boat's World Cruise is expected to leave on April 8th.

Mona Lisa is at sea, enroute from Wallis Bay(Namibie) to Rio De Janeiro Today.

At some point, there was a rumor that a Louis' ship would be used as PeaceBoat.
The ship was The Aegean Pearl (ex. Perla).
That was back in December.

Jeff:

You're right this was brough up a while ago and as a result I snooped around on the English section of Peac Boat's website and discovered the following:

Peace Boat organizes its voyages on chartered passenger ships, adapting the onboard spaces to provide a unique and dynamic environment for its participants. Since 2008, Peace Boat has been chartering MS Clipper Pacific for its global voyages. The current 63rd and upcoming 64th Global Voyages for Peace are being conducted with the MV Mona Lisa, on a short-term charter.

So it looks like Mona Lisa is doing 2 voyages for them. The implication is that Clipper Pacific will do the others; however, this wording leaves it open to ANY ship dong these.

Louis Cruises do charter out their ships and one of their ships which is not operating on charter to Thomson Cruises in 2009 is ' The Emerald '.

It is possible that she could be chartered to the Japanese Peace Movement.

Dear friends,

The history of Peace Boat Organization, dates back as follows...the first cruise ships chartered were:-

1) MS OLVIA

then...

2) SS THE TOPAZ

3) M/V CLIPPER PEARL ...

She started her career officially as Clipper Pearl , but 3 months after her renewal, she changed name into CLIPPER PACIFIC, and she was later on detained in USA due to severe irregularities...

Since then, her world cruise was canceled and Peace Boat presently searches for a suitable ship/replacement...

4) M/S MONA LISA...Jan 2009...announced as the next Peace Boat...

Let's see if this old lady will became their newest ship!

P.S.- The Aegean Pearl was one of the ships that were considered for this purpose, but others were also seen/evaluated...

Brgds

Mayby the Flamenco? Club Cruise had been at that time seriously negotiating with Japanese Peace Boat. However they chosen on price for the Pacific Clipper.

THANKS JEKYLL...THATS THE REASON WHY I ASKED THE QUESTION, BUT THE VANCOUVER PORT SCHEDULE HAS BEEN WRONG IN THE PAST PLUS THE HISTORY OF WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THE CLIPPER PACIFIC MAKES YOU WONDER WHY THEY WOULD CHARTER THE SHIP AGAIN...TOTAL OVERHAUL IS BEING DONE MAYBE?... JEFF
