Ive cruised on P&O Australia a few times and looking for a new line to experience. Im considering the Sun Princess North Queensland cruise from sydney. However me and my friends are in our early 20s and unsure if there are many cruisers in their early 20s on these cruises. My travel agent has told me it is older than p&o but all ages are represented. Would anyone be able to give me an idea of what to expect?

Thanks

There are 2000 pax on baord, some of the best nights I have had a sea were in the Sun class discos etc. OK Alaska everyone is in bed early but elsewhere.................

More upmarket than P&O but in a country club way, all ages there, go for it.

If you want belly flop comps etc do not go but if you are looking for something a bit more refined then it is fine, bear in mind you will not be the only people on board looking to achieve the same thing.

We have taken 2 Princess cruises in the past year, every age group was covered with the average probably being 40.

My parents, Grandparents and Grandmothers sister and her husband are on the Sun Princess now doinga 12 night Queensland trip.

I went down to see them off and noticed allot more younger passengers and even some with kids. I dont think you can go wrong with a short cruise out of Sydney.

I am 27 now and back in 2005 I did Sapphire Princess 12 nights Sydney to Auckland and found plenty of young passengers my age.

Something like that would be hard for me to answer. The age groups on long voyages are predominatly older but young people still book sectors of them. Its really a gamble when you book if you find young people or not.

I find that younger peolpe are on in the warmer months in holiday seasons and they tend to go to hotter tropical destinations.

If your going with a group of other young people then you should be fine. Hawaii is always good to visit and 18 nights is not really long as it fits into annual holidays so there MAY be other younger people there.

I think you will find the 12 nighter will have more young people on board.
I am off on Dawn Princess in a couple of weeks for the 28 day Circumnavigation Of Australia cruise and am expecting the age group to be a lot older.

They liked it, the temp was hot and had clear days. There were young people on but ships ships average passengers was older. They did not seem too keen to book again in the school holidays, as there were lots of kids about a bit more than usual.

From what I have heard the crew appeared to be miserable and the ones who were due to get off were short tempered and exhausted. Apparantly the majority of Australians on removed the auto tipping system and there were rumours that this was upsetting the crew.

If you are really keen to do Hawaii then think how many people are in your group and if you at least meet a few other young ones you should be right. It is a gamble. I have been on cruises where I have been one of the youngest passengers there and still had a great time.
