Another stupid-assed drunk who can't control himself. I admit, I liked my Carnival experience, but only because of the efforts of the crew, the food, and the good deal I got online. But many of the passengers seem to be so damned obnoxious, drunks, people who spit on the deck, throw food on the deck, cut in front of you on elevators, ignoring their wretched children (who wreak havoc in places they have no business). The hardware is fine, but the software needs work.

I don't just blame booze. Much of it is STUPIDITY! Plenty of people drink but they know boundaries even when sh-- faced. Anyone that falls overboard even when plastered is beyond just being drunk, they probably don't have much upstairs to begin with. Carnival seems to get the most as apparently they have a lot of young, inexperienced idiots booking their cruises. Their Carnival cruise is probably the farthest they have been from home, and also the most exotic local. Scary.

I trust he will be sent the bill for his rescue, and cover whatever compensation was afforded to the other pax whose vacations he so selfishly messed up.

Probably won't pay a dime! Some slick lawyer will probably say Carnival overserved him and he was not in full control of his facilties. I wonder how much Carnival will pay????
Look at the Smith case (RCI) what did they pay out for that one???
Just another case where stupidity pays!!!

I knew he'd be some fat, ugly chav beer-bellied redneck. He ran and jumped off of his balcony - he didn't fall - this asshat ran and jumped off into the water.

Maybe it's because I've had a bad week, but this guy is really pissing me off.

Well, the idiot made the ABC World News Cast tonight. Funny that the report showed RCI ships within the report and not one Carnival ship.

They did use a computer generated visual to show how far he fell off the ship into the sea, "just miraculous he did not get dragged under the ship and into the propellers."

Maybe this guy needed to hit a meeting instead of falling off the ship...

That question was raised on the local news this morning. The cost of the search and rescue mission was approximately $73,000.00, but so far it is not known if he will be charged!

I actually heard on the news last night (I forget which station) that he ran through a cabin window and NOT off balcony. I am not sure whetehr I can believe this as those windows are mighty thick. Did anyone esle here this?

The first TV reports yesterday said he jumped through a window; as more details have emerged, it turns out that he simply jumped off the balcony of his stateroom. There were other people present at the time. I'm amazed he didn't seem to hit the lifeboats on the way down, although he got a collapsed lung from the impact on the water.
