To be honest if I wasn't being tempted last night by Madeira and all those ships on New Year's Eve I'd never have even looked at the photo properly like I hadn't in the past.

This is indeed what makes this very common practice of using really, really bad photos hard to understand. They could buy some of these pictures - and obviously it is not that difficult to come up with some nice pictures - mind you that they also have a photographer aboard who could take a picture of the ship from time to time - some of them have to be suitable for a catalogue.
Aww, bad luck, Tom. But at least I know for sure now I'm not mad and didn't imagine it. More Canberra in their brochures I say!
