Over the years, many ships have changed hands and along with that comes a new coat of paint. Some were for the better....

and others, well lets say for the worse...

So, what ships do you think looked the better and worse after thier new paint job?

Empress of Canada (Mardi Gras) was lovely in white, but absolutely radiant with a blue hull and gold stripe as Apollon.

Celebrity's Horizon did not fair so well when Island Cruises removed her beautiful navy blue accents for an all white Island Star (not to mention her remaining Celebrity birthmarks and the bizarre Island logo).

Ships originally built and liveried with dark hulls are generally disappointing in white (ie: QE1; Flandre; Cunard's Saxonia class, etc.)

One of the few ships to look incredible in all incarnations: Rotterdam (1959). I guess good breeding shows through, regardless of makeup!!

The very short lived livery that Sitmar used in the late 1980s was awful. Their original livery (similar to Homes Lines) was simple and elegant and luckily only one ship was painted w/the half submerged swan look before the Princess takeover. I also never liked the pebble grey hull paint used on QE2 in the early 1980s. Cunard could never keep it clean and she would often arrive in port covered w/rust-looking like a tramp steamer.

i like the new livery of Dream Princess (ex sundream) - and i think the blue hull makes her look better

the new livery of olympia voyager (white rather the blue) seems to fit her very well

on the contrary , the livery of horizon (during the days of Celerbrity) was , to my opinion, excellent, while now, as Island Star, the ship look far worst then ever...
