Featuring Free Airfare and European Cruises From $798

(Los Angeles, CA –Dec. 1, 2005) Uniworld, the premier river cruise and tour operator announced today in celebration of the launch of its new Grand Value Cruising program, it will offer free airfare and rates starting from $798 on 16 of its Dutch and German itineraries in Spring 2006.

“Grand Value Cruising was developed in response to customer requests for both flexibility and choice with the river cruise experience,” said Scott Franey, vice president, marketing and sales for Uniworld. “This program allows guests to explore on their own or join optional shore excursions. As a result, we are able to offer these cruises at extremely attractive prices that include stateroom upgrades and free airfare from select cities” he added.

Dutch Dreams are nine-day cruises through the best of Holland amid windmills, tulips and visits to art museums of the Dutch masters. Departure dates are Mar 24, 31, Apr 7, 14, 21, 28 and May 5. These roundtrip Amsterdam cruises are onboard Uniworld’s newly restyled River Baroness with the signature comforts and touches that are hallmarks of the cruise line.

Rhine and Moselle Classics are nine-day cruises along the legendary Rhine with its medieval castles, rolling vineyards and fairytale towns. Departure dates are Apr 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and May 6, 13, 20 & 27. These roundtrip Frankfurt cruises are onboard Uniworld’s newly refurbished River Ambassador.

Reservations must be booked by Jan. 31, 2006. Fares quoted are per person, double occupancy, and include roundtrip airfare from New York, outside stateroom, all meals and select guided shore excursions. Free airfare is also available from Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Dulles, Philadelphia, New York and Newark. Other gateway cities are available for an additional add-on cost. Offer good for new reservations only. For reservations and more information on these exclusive offers, call your travel agent or visit www.uniworld.com.

Does anyone know anything about the River Ambassodor mentioned in the Uniglobe announcemnet? I know that the River Baroness has been completely refurbished, but I'm not sure about the river Ambassador's level of refurbishment. Uniglobe.com has no information about this ship. The reduced fares seem to be mostly on the Ambassador which makes me wonder if it is not quite as nice as the Baroness. Thanks for any help with this!

The River Ambassador is definitely going to be upgraded to exactly the same level as the River Baroness. The two ships are virtually sister ships w/ the Amabassador previously sailing as the Regina Rheni.

I spoke w/ someone that just visited the Baroness and said it looked quite beautiful.

The primary reason that the discounts appear mostly on the Amabassord is that she was brought into the Grand Value Programme some time AFTER the Baroness and as a result needed "kick start" to bring her capacity levels up to that of the Baroness.
