Hello to everyone !

As many of you many cruise lines are transferring some cruise ships from a brand to another one.

Just few examples: Crystal is moving the Harmony to the parent company NYK Cruises, Celebrity the Horizon to Island Cruises, Costa the Tropicale to P&O Australia.

Princess Cruises is with no doubt the " leader " for transferring its cruise ships to other brands.... in the past years we have seen former Princess ships joining P&O Australia, P&O, Arosa Cruises... other ones will follow in the future

Having said this, here are my idea about transferring some cruise ships from a brand to another one.

-Carnival Corp & Plc.

Aida Blu and Regal Princess to P&O Cruises.

Oceana back to Princess.

Fantasy, and... in a near future... Ectasy, to Ocean Village Cruises.

Holiday and Celebration to P&O Australia.

Prinsendam to Swan Hellenic Cruises.

Costa Romantica and Classica to a newly created subsidiary for Far East Cruises... Costa Asia Cruises perhaps ?

Costa Allegra and Marina to a newly created subsidiary for cruises from Piraeus... Costa Attica Cruises perhaps ?

Pacific and Tahitian Princess to Costa.

-Royal Caribbean Group.

Zenith to Island Cruises as a replacement for Island Escape.

Sovereign, Majesty, Monarch, Empress of the Seas to a newly created subsidiary for Southern European International Cruises... RCI Europe perhaps ?

-Star Cruises Group.

SuperStar Virgo to Star Cruises.

Norwegian Wind and Dream to Orient Lines.

Your ideas ?

To get more flexibilty and avoid confusion with incoherent fleets I would create a brand for each single cruise ship.

Carnival buys Disney's ships and tranfers them to Cunard Line. They would look terrific w/their funnels painted in Cunard colors. Of course this won't happen but they sure would look great IMO. I would transfer Statendam, Veedam to Cunard so they could have a few more ships. They would also look splendid in Cunard's livery.

As NCL and Orient has been mentioned: Give the Norwegian Crown back to Orient! (and please remove the fitness centre) I can not imagine that she is fitting well into the freestyle concept which is sucessfully established by NCL troughout their fleet.
Europa would have been nice with Orient, but she has been sold.
Cunard desperatly needs ships, but as suggested above a HAL ship will join the fleet soon.

I do not really understand why Royal Princess had to be moved to P&O - obviously she has not been altered and could have been marketed as a British Princess ship.

There are some more individual ships like the Costa Europa or the Prinsendam - but I do not see why she should change to another brand.

A problem might be the first Aida ship - very soon she won`t look that good anymore compared to her fleetmates, and it will be difficult to put her somewhere else without extensively rebuilding her.

I wonder wheter the Fantasy Class will be upgraded like it has been done with Costa Victoria - but finally no urgent need to change the brand.

The Crown and Regal Princess are also not easy - but as mentioned they might fit well into the British market.

Here are my ideas of transfers.

Holiday to Costa Cruises
Celebration to P&O Australia
Zenith to Island Cruises
Statendam/Maasdam to Costa
Oceana to Princess
Aidablu to Ocean Village
Tahitian/Pacific Princess to Cunard
Dream, Wind, Star, Majesty, Crown, Marco Polo to Star.

Here are my ideas:

STAR/NCL
SuperStar Virgo to NCL as Norwegian Pride

HAL/CUNARD
Volendam, Zaandam to Cunard (closet funnels)

CELEBRITY
Zenith to Island Cruises

In the future, it would be interesting to see if Star/NCL creates more brands, such as NCL Australia, NCL Europe, etc...

My ideas are:

For Carnival corp :
-Costa Europa to P&O Australia when the second Costa Conquest class enters service.
-Prinsendam to Costa when Allegra or Marina leave the fleet.
-Costa Allegra and Marina to a newly created asian division of Carnival corp.
-Celebration and a few Fantasy class to the same new brand when Pinnacle class ships arrive.

We may also expect that the entire NCL old tonnage would be transferred to Star Cruises on emerging markets (China, India...).

I can't imagine as well RCI not involving themselves in Asia : Empress ots and a Sovereign class ship would be a good start.

I agree, no more Carnival hand-me-downs for 'Down Under'. Pungpui, what do you suggest?

Cheers

I know this may not be popular, but I think the N twins from HAL would be good as Cunarders, maybe FRANCONIA and CARONIA.
The STAR ARIES would have been so great for Orient Lines. THat ship was built for long cruises, not 7-Day cruises in the Caribbean. Also I think Royal Cruises should have built at least 4 CROWN ODYSSEYS and had a nice fleet. Its too bad the little GOLDEN ODYSSEY became a casino ship. She would have been great in the Greek Isles !

This is all too much for a HAL fan to bear! If you want to maintain proven success and quality, put the HAL colors on the QE2 and QM2, and put Cunard out of its misery. Cheers!!!
