I think it's still the case that a family/company called Anders Wilhelmsen & Co. has the most shares. They are from Oslo and I recall a lot of drama on the Celebrity board over at Cruise Critic a few years ago when dozens of members of the Wilhelmsen family (including toddlers) vacationed on an M Class ship (of course occupying all of the highest suites).

At present co-founder Arne Wilhelmsen owns about 21% of the company and the Pritzker family of Chicago owns 16%.

As to where they are based, the headquarters for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity is in Miami. In fact they have a relatively new headquarters custom built at the Port of Miami, only a stones throw from where their ships dock. The really cool thing is that their office is shaped like their logo, the "Crown & Anchor". Apparently RCI ships are not the only thing the company is very innovative with! I've attached an aerial view pic so you can see for yourself.

Unfortunately those of us without a private jet or helicopter cannot appreciate it.

If you own at least 100 shares of stock, RCI and Carnival give you shipboard credit when you take a cruise on one of their cruise lines. Went on a 14 day Princess transatlantic in May and I received $250 shipboard credit for being a shareholder. I was going on the cruise anyway so the $250 was a bonus and it paid for most of the gratuities for both of us in the cabin.

It leavs about 62% of the shares , owned by others investors . by all the recent reports it seems that Wilhelsmen holdings in RCI are not abouve 40% .

The Pritzker family (Thomas Pritzker etc.,) and to a lesser extent the Ofer family (Sammy and Yuli Ofer) are Cruise Associates, a Bahamian registered general partnership. With Pritzker, the Ofer brothers control a $1.5 billion stake in Royal Caribbean.

As already pointed out (without going into decimal places) the two largest shareholders are:

A. Wilhelmsen (A. Wilhelmsen AS) 21%
Pritzker family 16%
__________
TOTAL 37%
