I have been to Darwin, and it is a nice enough city to spend a few hours in - I was there for two days and enjoyed my time there, before moving on towards Alice Springs and the red centre. Yes, Darwin is a long way from anywhere else in Australia, but anywhere in Australia is a long way from anywhere else in Australia!
