Hello all,

Since Paradise Cruises sold Atalante for scrapping in India the company has no other ships. As far as i know Paradise is looking for a new cruise ship to be added in their fleet.

Anyone have any idea witch this ship is going to be ?

Nikolas

Maybe one of the old ROC ships that (if I am not wrong) will be going on auction next week.

These are

Odysseus
World Renaisance
Triton

Louis may be interested in any of them but I guess nobody knows what is going to happen

Like was mentioned someplace else on cruise talk the Odysseus may be the one that won't return to service again and be sold for scrap, however u never know its whoever bids the highest on her will get her and I beleive the reserve price is 1.8 million!
The World Renaissance will almost definentley be sailing again as it has had a lot of SOLAS work done to it! The Triton Im not sure of, she would make someone a good little ship for sure! Im not sure if World Renaissance and Triton can be brought up to SOLAS compliance or if they can only sail til 2010! I know Odysseus pretty much will have to be removed from Cruise service after 2010!

I have a feeling Louis will most likely purchase both the WORLD REN. Not sure about the TRITON. I heard that "an American company" is interested in one of the 3 ROC vessels.

If its true that an american company is interested in one of the 3 ROC vessels I'm wondering if maybe it could be World Explorer Cruises? Im not sure of their status right now, BUT if they're still actively looking for a vessel or still in business for that matter then maybe they could be the ones? And I'm wondering which one, Im thinking maybe Odysseus or World Renaissance! Or maybe Imperial Majesty could be looking for a running mate or replacement for the Regal Empress??

This is from World Explorer Cruises' website:

It is with regret that our efforts in searching for a replacement vessel in the past two years have not been successful. Judging from the current situation, the Management of the Company believes the resumption of any cruises in the near future is rather unlikely.

If it isn't World Explorer Cruises who can it be? Keitaro any hints?

I would expect Ravenscroft looking at the TRITON. Following the success they have with chartering the NEW FLAMENCO to Travelplan, the TRITON could be a fine addition. Meanwhile, Travelplan is chartering the OCEAN COUNTESS from European Classical Cruises (Majestic Cruises) as a running mate for NEW FLAMENCO.
TRITON was mentioned already in connection with Travelplan as well but nothing to be taken serious yet.
And not to forget that TRITON is far away from the standard of NEW FLAMENCO. She was not maintained at all during the last two years and would need a propper refurbishment before starting operations again.

I have doubts for WORLD RENAISSANCE and ODYSSEUS. The only companies I see which could purchase one of them would be Louis, Arcalia or Majestic. But I have doubts anyway that one of them would have serious interest in them. I rather guess they will be scrapped.

Patrick
