QE2 will sail R/T Southampton over Xmas/New Year 2005/06 will she then do her W/C from Soton the wrong way round? or go south to Capetown and over to Rio? and so on?----Or and this is purely a guess on my part, QM2 will take over the mantle and do her 1st W/C ex NY via South America (as QE2 did in 1993). Meanwhile QE2 will do a couple of line voyages to South Africa and Port Louis??. Either way I hope Cunard can come up with a more imaginative programme of voyages for QM2 in Jan/Feb/Mar 2006 than her series of 7 day trips in 2005.Any thoughts????????

Would be nice to see both doing the WC in opposite directions! I dont see QM2 attempting the WC tho.

P.S. Who will be the first person to say "QE2 wont make it to 2006".... Malcolm??

I think QE2 will make it through 2006. It's 2007 that could spell her demise. The introduction of QV in 2007 may also signal the retirement of QE2 from the Cunard fleet.

Of course a lot can happen between now and 2007, but I would venture to speculate we may see QE2 retire from Cunard in that year.

She'll be the CHER of the Cruise Industry and do 3 or 4 years of FAREWELL Cruises....afterall - they've each had enough facelifts...maybe there's a parallel
