This may have already been discussed, but what happened to Daniel Boulud and Cunard? I note that he is no longer in any Cunard advertisements, and I saw no mention of him on QM2. Was he the first victim of the complaints about food from the early voyages (or was he part of the problem)?

I thought the problems with meals aboard QM2 were related to staffing problems and the size of the portions in the Britannia Restaurant, not the quality of the food.

My understand is the relationship between Boulud and Cunard is over. The rumor is that Cunard would not give Boulud the control he needed to make his program a success. Apparently Cunard just wanted his recipes and to do things their own way. If this is truly the case then I don't blame Boulud one bit for getting out. When you put your name to something, you damn well better have control.

The food in the Britannia Restaurant during the fabled Tandem Crossing was good over all, but certainly not unique. If I was Daniel Boulud I don't know that I'd want my name, as one of the world's finest chefs, associated with the uninspired cuisine there.

IMHO the food and dining room service on the ill-fated NORWAY last year certainly equalled the Britannia Restaurant, and at a hell of a less tariff! Holland America and Delta Queen are as good if not better too!

I Think that Boulud was jealous of the attention given Todd English. I do not say this in a negative way other than it may have created friction with two famous chefs vying for the publicity.

I really think it has more to do with what Eroller said, I don't believe the above.
