Hey, I was just thinking, does anyone know if NCL plans on more or less making this its own cruise line? What I mean by that is do they plan on making a website for them, etc... Will they be like Orient Line, etc.... Or will it justy be a part of NCL?...

At least from what has been going so far, NCL America will not be marketed separately from NCL. Same web site, same brochures, same advertising, same reservations staff, etc.

Yes, I received a Latitudes (repeat cruisser) newsletter last week and NCL Amercia had its own page or two.

Skimming the text, it stated that many of the crew call Hawaii home. Do you think that includes cabin stewards and dining room staff?

I know Hawaii has had unemployment problems and has had a tourism dropoff in recent years. On the one hand, having NCL create jobs in the local economy is nice. On the other hand, we all know how demanding those jobs are.

Yes, many do call Hawaii home. NCL is trying to hire many "locals" for the hawiian cruises. They have/will hire a couple thousand employees.

Will not be same Crew.American crew is trained at the moment on board of other NCL ships.The ships will ne under U.S.flag and they will operate only betwen islands in Haway.

Maybe some of the crew from s/s Independence will find work aboard the new ships. It seems that most of them were from Hawaii and made the Indy a very friendly ship-at least on my cruises.
