Who knows...
I guess we will have to wait.
Stelios has enough money and credibility that he should be able to start off the right way rather than undermining his business venture by buying out ROC and taking along their old ships and all the baggage that came with the company. Even if he just bought the ships and left the rest to die, it would be starting off on a very bad foot. What this concept needs are new, purpose-built, specially-designed ships that could, if required, be built assembly-line style, kind of like the vessels of Indonesia's PELNI, or even the R ships for that matter.
Of course, since everybody said that easyjet would never work, some would argue that Stelios can do anything he says he can, conventional wisdom be damned, and personally despite it being blown off by a lot of people I do believe that his concept for easycruises or whatever he would call it could work, but not with a fleet of mismatched secondhand ships... And to do so, he would be violating what may be the single most important feature of all the easy companies besides the color orange.
By the Way: When the Mardi Gras started as single Ship, old with an new, totally different Concept than all others,
all the World was laughing and says, that that WILL NEVER WORK.
Did Carnival work?

Well, I almost agree with everything you said except from the above.Easycar operates a wide range of cars at the moment and easyjet 3 types of airplanes B737-300, B737-700 and A319.What I 'm trying to say is that the initial concept of easy"companies" to have uniform fleets, use cheap airports only etc etc etc is not valid any more in any way and this is reflected on their prices as well. These companies make profits in many other ways which I can analyse to you in private cause otherwise my message is gonna be too boring.
from ELEUTHEROTYPIA ONLINE (Daily Greek Newspaper at www.enet.gr)
The newspaper reports rumours that the financial problems "imposed" onto the two Greek companies by their bankers are done on purpose trying to make the companies weak and easy to be taken over from larger companies (names not given) which need increased presence in the Mediterranean.
I leave the comments for you...

I think the idea of their being bought out by Attica Enterprises (parent of Superfast) is more likely, since they have certainly shown interest in the cruise business.

Incidentally there is now a web site for easyCruise. Apparently the cabins would be based off the easyDorm concept, which are to be built in Finland (my guess is by the Pikko Works). It would take a lot of work to retrofit these easyDorm style cabins to cruise ships, so my guess is they're looking at newbuildings. Also, they say the venture will start in 2005 at the latest, though of course if the right opportunity were to come by they might not want to pass it up...

ROC has been crying 'victim' for several years now. They're only a victim of their own incompetence.
I agree with Doug, John Chandris doesn't want or need the headaches of ROC.
