Number one to anyone taking the cruise, DO NOT BUY THE ALL INLUSIVE DRINK CARD!!! Total waste of money! Even though rum is included in this package u have to pay 75 pents for liquor in a pina colada as well as a strawberry daquari! The people werent very friendly, may be due to the fact that the week before was bad weather, from what i heard. There were a lot of un satisfied people with this cruise. I heard many complaints. I even heard that a women got yelled at for asking the wrong person in the dining room for a coffee!! Maybe they were having a bad week but i did not see one worker smile at me! They definalty did not go out of there way to satisfy us. Maybe I was expecting too much but when i pay for a trip i expect to get out of it what i paid and i didnt. The place was kept nice and clean. The food was amazing. Our cabin was always kept clean by our steward. Other than this I wish i was more satissfied with the trip.

I hope, you did not give any Tip to these unfriendly People.

Better book in the Future an First-Class-Company:

CELEBRITY!

(or some others).

Things, described by you will not happen there.

I see at Costa in 2001 unqualified and lousy Service, but not unfriendly.

The Quality of Crews today is not good, so take only Premium Companies, where the better of the non-good are...

Too bad you had such a bad experience, especially for your first cruise.
We did the same itinerary in January and had a great time.

We found the dining room to be about the friendliest we have encountered on any line.
Of course you said you didn't eat there but only at the Lido cafe, maybe you would have enjoyed it more.

Just one question - your comment in reply to Who goes was "English, English and more English!!"
What did you expect on a British ship?
Although when we went there were many Welsh and Scots as well as quite a lot of Canadians.

Possibly just an unfortunate week to have picked - don't give up on cruising because of one bad experience. The worst 2 cruises I have taken were on Celebrity 'Horizon' and Holland America 'Volendam' - obviously glitches as they usually get rave reviews.

Better luck next time!

Some cruises can be pretty near!

I'm sorry to hear that you did not have a very good experiece. Most Sunbird customers do, according to our many Readers Reviews.

Gurliegirl's Review

I am not clear from your review what spoilt it? O.K. you have mentioned the drinks card here, the review mentions toilet and bathroom problems (which are not uncommon on older ships). What other services were not up to you expectations?

well, i would have to say the people. The fact that we expected alot from it and was dissapointed. We werent treated with as much respect as we should have. When we were at the airport on the way home we actually heard a couple talking behind us saying that she asked someone in the dining room for a coffee and got yelled at cause they asked the wrong person...dont know how much of that is true but still...we werent the only ones that experienced unfriendliness. I am not expecting the world here. I asked for a coke at 9:45 in the morning and the bar tender rudely told me that i could NOT use my drink cards until 10AM. Therefore would have to pay for a coke, instead of using the card. So i said ok ill pay for it than, he walked away and IGNORED ME!!! I couldnt believe it! I tried to remember his name to write in the review that you leave at the end of your cruise, but couldnt because it was a different name. Therefore from the beginning we didnt get off on the right foot.

Looking forward to your photos!!

How was the itinerary? You didn't go into that much in your review.

Maybe your impression of the English is a cultural gap....I have noticed that the Engish tend to be very friendly when you get to know them, but have a tendency to appear unfreindly at times just from the look on their face if they don't know you well. Not a good thing on a service oriented job though. I know that the mood of the crew can be affected by a previously bad cruise with bad weather and maybe some really difficult passengers.

Do you mean the staff, rather than the passengers, or both?
