Gizmo: Welcome back and know your trip was good as I observe(not post) somewhere else and saw you said it was great. I just wondered I think I recall you were going to Curacao and wondered if you did and if so were there any problems?
Thanks
Kevin

Kevin - are you getting Cartegna or Caracas mixed up with Curacao? There aren't any problems nor have been in Curacao.
HAL no longer goes to Cartegna (stopped a couple of cruises before mine) or Caracas. Thank goodness. Although we did enjoy our trip to Caracas the first time we were there, the next couple of times we stayed on the ship. Same for Cartegna. When you see those soldiers and the gun boat sitting at the dock, makes you want to get out of there FAST!

Kevin,

I agree with Sympatico. I think you may have the ports mixed up. Curacao is fine. The ship was scheduled for Caracas but while we were on the ship we were informed we would not stop there because of all the problems. We went to Isle of Margarita instead. This is a lousy port, but at least they are not in the middle of a revolt.

It was a great cruise and we both enjoyed it.

Well, I have surely been wrong before and most likely will again but I was sure I heard Curaco anyway I am glad to hear that that island is fine not excited about your info about Isla De Margarita. What did you do there if anything.
thanks to both of you for responding. Hope you write a review.

Kevin,

I stayed on board in Margarita. This is a lousy port. It is about 45 minutes to get into town. Most pax say it is not worth it.
I heard the dolphine encounter tour was good from other pax. It was supposed to be better than the one offered in Curacao. More interactiion with the dolphines.
A couple of years ago my sister-in-law took the lagoon tour and liked it.
There is not much you can do on your own.
