After looking at our cruise personalizer for our upcoming cruise on the Coral Princess over Xmas and New Year Princess list the pre cruise hotel as The Inter-Continental Doral,Miami after our flight from London.
Can anyone on your side of the pond confirm that this is the Inter-Continental Miami Airport West.If that is the case can anyone give me info about the area(restaurants etc.)
Thank you
Iain

There are two Inter-Continentals in Miami, what makes you think it is this one?

On the Inter-Continental site neither has the name given... But it is surely one or the other... I just don't know which?

I really can't answer your question on this one, but after doing a search on Google, there are only 2 InterContinental Hotels listed for Miami - one on 100 Chopin Plaza and the Maimi Airport West at 2525 N.W. 87th Ave. Is there an address listed on your documents for the hotel you have mentioned? There is no "Doral, Miami" listed.

I would say Airport West will be your location. Doral is actually a Country Club/Hotel and it's located West of the airport. In fact, you will be within spitting distance of Carnival's Headquarters. An impressive set of glass buildings that are beautifully landscaped, and of course have a giant Carnival winged funnel out front.

The other Inter-Continental which I have stayed at several times, is in downtown Miami next to Bayside. Many rooms have an excellent view of the ships. I guess there would be no reason to stay here unless you are actually leaving from the Port of Miami. I believe the CORAL PRINCESS will depart from Ft. Lauderdale, about 30 minutes to the North.

Best,

If there's a hotel called Doral perhaps the ticket means Inter-Continental OR Doral, and it could be either?

Just an idea.

There is a hotel called Doral, but it's also an area of Miami that people refer to. Back when I went to college at UM, there was really nothing around Doral except the club, golf courses, and Carnival's Headquarters (it was a different building back then.... in an office park). Now the area has grown enormously with many offices, hotel, and restaurants.

Why not email Princess and ask for an address?
Your TA could probably get the info also.

We have friends leaving from Miami in January - try this URL -
http://miami.florida.intercontinental.com/hotel.shtml

This gives information on both Intercontinental locations.

I really wouldn't worry about it - if the Line has put you there, I'd assume it's also providing transfers. Understand though that's it's nice to know what's close by.

Have a great cruise!

If all else fails, ask your Agent or Princess for clarification.

Hello,
Thanks for everybodys help, only away from the bulletin boards overnight and when I return there are a host of replies.
As part of our cruise package with Princess they provide the pre cruise hotel and transfers to Ft. Lauderdale.Reading your comments sounds like we will be well accomodated in either of the hotels.
Thanks,
Iain
