ok...well its time to go on vacation....i am on a budget thanks to the last cruise aboard the "summit" last october.....so with help from my fellow chatters what do yoy think i should do....or pick...i want the most for my buck....should i go on a cruise where accomodation a food is included...or should i go to an all inclusive 5 star where everything is included except hard liquor....with the way cruise lines are charging for everything including ice cream...on some lines and the price (high) on bar drinks...i want to know if you think the cruise lines are going to survive as more and more resorts are being built in the tropics and trying to get past cruise line passengers to there resorts.....oh yea...if anyone knows of an all inclusive cruise ship...please let me know....thanks....jeff

Jeff - why not look into an all-inclusive that Sunquest Vacations advertises. My daughter went to one in Loreto in the Baja and another in Akumel. When she returns from out of town, I will aks her the names of them. She enjoyed both.

Jeff:
My husband & I have been going to "all inclusive" resorts for the last 20 years (the first all inclusive was to Dominion Republic - Jack Tar Resort,Puerta Plata - the second plane load of Canadians to do so) and when they mean "all inclusive" they mean it - hard liquor as well. since then we have never gone any other way for our Canadian dollar. At the Breezes Varadero in Cuba even the scuba diving is included!
We also have cruised and found it more expensive since you are paying either U.S. dollars for bar bills and shorex or in the case of our recent two week cruise (just returned three days ago)on the Sunbird, British pounds Eeeeks or Euros. I have just picked up locally the new brochure for the Sunbird Winter cruises in the Carribean and will compare to the My Tours brochure I picked up on the ship last week. (British prices) For the life of me I can't figure out how the British company can only charge 99pounds ($250.00 Canadian) for a flight to Montego, Jamaica (that is the discount they give in this brochure if you do not want the flight in your pricing!) In Canada on the European cruise pricing, if you want to choose a two week cruise instead of the one week, you add two, one weeks to-gether and deduct $899.00 (for Europe) and $500.00 (for Carribean). I assume is the air fare reduction on the other week. I still think for our Canadian dollar the all inclusive is the only way to go. Bye the way, we did have a great time on the ship, the Sunbird is a gem, but it will be while before we go to Europe again.

We are leaving next week for our 2nd visit to the Aventura Spa Palace on the Mayan Riviera. This is an all incl. resort catering to adults only. It includes everything, liquor, wine, food, all excursions, tips etc. and they give you a $50 spa coupon and a $50 golf coupon and a discount coupon for car rental. They have free transportation to all 7 of their resorts up and down the Yucatan, and free transportation to the nearby cities of Play Del Carmen and Further afield to Cancun. The rooms are great with a two person marble jaccuzzi in the room and a huge 2 person shower, mini bar/frig in the room, stocked daily, and liquor dispensers in the room. All in all, I think this is your best bang for your buck......jean
