Whilst looking at a U.K. based cruise forum mention was made of this rather amusing site www.ncl-sucks.com A cruise passenger is at odds with N.C.L. and has set up a web site to air his views and complaints.Apparently N.C.L. are none too pleased and are trying hard to get him to remove the site and reportdly threatning legal action.

I visited the site, and all I can say is - not everyone is meant for cruising.
I don't think NCL should be held responsible for bad weather, or the street conditions in Mexico.

This must be one of the passengers from hell
Hope I never meet somebody like him/her on a cruiseship!
But was i true that the dog died? Didn´t they(or somebody else) rescue the dog after the crew from the tanker had told that the dog had been left behind?

Hello,

The writer of this website is indeed a PASSENGER FROM HELL. This person HAS IT IN FOR NCL.

The dog did not die, yet they put this up because it is their goal to make NCL look as bad as possible even if it includes LYING.

Ignore this website, it is BS.

How can a cruise line be held responsible for weather conditions or dirt on the street in a port? Unbelievable.

There are some people who cannot be pleased!

Happy Cruising,
Cruiseny

I find it very funny that this person (who is apparantly a well-educated adult) can think of nothing better to do to entertain herself than drink and gamble. I'm sure there are many on this board who can be perfectly happy aboard ship without indulging in either of those activities.

Britanis, i have an Suggestion:

For People, who only can drink and gamble, and are unable to enjoy, i suggest to take an STRICK and to HANG THEMSELVES UP!!

That makes it easier and more fast, to found an End, which they will find, when they always drink and do not come out of their Problems, which they have with their own Person.

Better an radical Finish, then an eternal Catastrophy...

Hello,

Oh, I'm not defending NCL by any stretch of the imagination. But the reasons listed - weather - are completely beyond the cruise line's control. This leaves lack of activities (this doesn't sound plausible, it is likely that this person just didn't cosider anything else a "real" activity except drinking and gambling) and bad smell.

While this might have been a less than enjoyable cruise, the reaction of slamming NCL and even lying outright about their company is bad. It is perfectly right of NCL to sue as this is simply slander.

Happy Cruising,
Cruiseny

Not only is it slander, but harassment as well. The website has Colin Veitch's private phone and fax numbers. This is clearly a very sad individual with way too much time on her hands.

As someone who does speak german, I really enjoy your translations of german colloquialisms. German is so full of emphatic and fun expressions which, unfortunately, don't translate very well. The website thulewx suggested is very useful (and did a nice job with his comments), but I doubt it would translate the true meaning of the phrase above as well as your translation did... albeit only to those who know german.

On the bright side of things, the next time you are in an english-speaking country, you should feel free to ask people whether they have a bird, or if they are wearing tomatoes on their eyes, with relative impunity.

Cruiseny, you need this to hang somebody up.
Poeple often use it for doing self-murder, or they throw themselves in Front of an Train,
jump down an Bridge and so on.

My English is not the best, i learned it in School, when i was 10-18 Years old, now i am 44.

Tomates on the Eyes mean in Germany this Person will not see Things, Facts, the Truth and so on. They are sleepers and a bit stupid.

To have an Bird means, they are ill in their Mind, they do Things which are nonsense or worthless.

I hope, most of my Postings will be understood, but i am not very good in English language.

On an Cruise in Fall 1998 on the Mercury, i had on my Table two American Couples: one from Dallas, Texas, the other from Arizona. This was a little bit difficult, they could not speak German and their English was more an Dialect from Texas
or other Southern States in US.

But we try hard and had an great Cruise with CELEBRITY.

Hello,

I think the English word you're looking for is "noose" - that is the sort of rope usually used to hang people by the neck.

Happy Cruising,
Cruiseny
