My sister's ex has won a cruise on the QE2! It is in October and it is going to the Bahamas! It is for two and well my sis is so mad that they broke up lol serves her right (he might take me yeaaa)! But anyway I was telling him about the ship etc and showed him the brochures I have and he could not help notiving all the pics of old people!! It looks so bad! These rich old men with young women in their arms! So is this a good ship for a 19 year old?? Apart from "shuffleboard" what else is their?

Anyway guess what else!? My auntie is going on a cruise in February 2003 she cant wait. It is on the HAL MS ZANDAMM (?) it is going round the carrib. she cant wait!

Hello,

Well, I can't say much about whether Cunard is only for the old... It is certainly not a party-boat cruise line though...

The ship your aunt is going on Zaandam, should be a very nice ship (built 2000, 63,000GRT).

Happy Cruising,
CruiseNY

Most ships have a their fair share of rich old people onboard!

However, if the average age onboard was 100, I'd still recommend going...what an opportunity and it's free!

They will be things onboard that any age can enjoy! Just being at sea is a pleasure in itself! The QE2 is an historic ship...tell your sister's ex to 'go for it' and take you!

Steve,

If you are the youngest single passenger on board, you stand to get lucky with any of the crew-either gender. You could be the POW {passenger of the week) according to Ernie.

The 'hot' looking ones usually interface with passengers: the b-boy or b-girl concept. Those that look like Onslow and Daisy end up in the galleys and below decks.

Leave a rubber band on the cabin door handle so sis's ex does not walk in on you. Code in college dorm rooms.

It is also good to be alone and enjoy the company of the ocean and a good book.

Hahahahaha... Are there enough people out there that would understand that ? Also, I guess you were referring to the episode on the QE2, that was very funny...

Titanicsteve:

Don't want to rain on your parade. Does anyone know if Cunard has a policy concerning age as a lot of the cruise lines do?

Age Policy.

No children under one year old (although I have seen some). Children under two travel free. Children under eighteen must be accompanied by an adult.

Is this what you mean?

Regards, Colin.

A

titanicsteve--GO FOR IT! You will love it...AND why not use this as a networking opportunity to let cruise director et al know what your employment interests are, and seek their advice on how to get into the business. Try to get an invite to the crew's club...whatever it is called and inquire how it is to work for Cunard???

What to do: There are first run movies in the theatre; a "teen" club (Club 2000, i think). There may not be too many youngsters your age, but then again, alot of the crew are probably in your age group. There is a small golf putting green and driving area. There is a court for tennis and basketball. Play ping pong or do jigsaw puzzles. There is an indoor and outdoor swimming pool; spa and gymnasium for working out; outdoor hot tubs and promenade deck for walking and jogging. They used to shoot clay pigeons, for real and then electronically, off the stern, i believe. Go see the stage shows; hike the Cunard history trail. Visit the bridge and the galley. There is karaoke in the Golden Lion pub in the evenings. There is the passenger talent show, practice up. People watch and as well as the ocean wildlife. Visit the library and go to the lectures. You will find there is more than enough to keep you entertained.

Good Luck and let us know, if you do get to go, what you think.
