This is a Mayday here. If anyone has read the SS NORWAY RETURNS topic lately, we have a VERY WORRIED passenger on our forum. Joe, Malcolm, anyone with pull here HAS to PLEASE find out what's happening with the SS NORWAY. Let's put our Pollysmom mind at ease PLEASE. Thank you for your help.

She needn't worry, the Norway has not disappeared into thin air.

It's not unusual for staff suchas res and inside sales to simply think and state that the ship is in drydock as they have not been given the ship's exact schedule.

Norway should be arriving in Miami on Sunday or Monday; the port is too crowded to provide her with a berth over the weekend.

It's also not unsual to have the comms system turned off during a dead load voyage. They always keep a few lines plus fax & e-mail lines live for communication with the Miami HQ.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
I really appreciate both the 'mayday' and the info re the 'res' personnel. They have been wavering between 'I don't know' and 'The Norway is in drydock'
Perhaps my anticipation has gotten the best of me; but, I wish the cruise lines would not be so misterious.
I mean, shouldn't everyone know about the ship that they are about to sail on (for more than 3 weeks)?!
The phone thing is really a curse though.
