That would, however, explain why Star has been so tight-lipped over future plans . . . it could have impacted the profitability of the "final" transatlantic.
If you are interested in the history of Ocean Liners, she is a wonderful ship. If you are not, definately pick another ship! Preferably a newer ship.
It's hard to imagine the Carib crowd would appreciate her pedigree?
During our cruise she was definately at her best on the open Atlantic, after all that's what she was designed for. I'd like to see her do more long voyages, rather than Island cruises which she is totally unsuitable for!
NCL must have finally realised this, hence the now regular 'Farewell' Transatlantic trips - in both directions!
Maybe Cunard should have not bothered building a QM2, but refurbished an already great Ocean Liner - the France!
If the last tender from Dun Laoghaire is any example then those should be confined to less than force three winds, have safer gangways, and NCL should pay for shore based help; not have it nervously peer at their antics through the office window.
Devon, the former ship's historian, has attempted to put before Star a cruise programme based on more maritime themes elsewhere on the east coast with some stops overnight to allow longer tours or theatre evenings - that's sound.
Others have suggested New England and Nova Scotia itineraries - and why not the St Lawrence??? Shorter journeys, but much scenery and history, and direct mooring too!
