Nude dancing cruises end

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla., Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Officials at the Port Canaveral
Port Authority were pleased to learn Friday there will be no more cruises
for a ship that featured nude dancers as entertainment.

The Canaveral Star's berth at the port is empty after creditors
repossessed the ship.

Court documents indicate the operators of the cruises were $950,000 in
arrears on payments for the ship. The company's office has been closed.

Port Authority officials had been trying to evict the Canaveral Star since
shortly after the cruises began in June when they learned the nature of the
entertainment on board. To avoid local laws banning nude dancing, the ship
would sail out three miles to international waters before the adult
entertainment began.

The ship could accommodate up to 150 passengers and 20 dancers. The
business apparently failed due to lack of interest in the cruises.

Port Authority spokesman Don Molitor said the nude dancing did not fit
with the family values of the other cruise ships using the port, which
include the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic.

The Canaveral Star's operators had sued the Port Authority for the right
to continue to operate there. Port rules are being amended to prevent
further adult entertainment businesses from operating there.

Sorry Malcolm!

Well I'm interested! What a sad loss to cruising That is an excellent ratio of dancers to passengers. The QE2 can't even beat that ratio!

I admire a cruise line that is providing an original style of entertainment. Lets be honest guys, it sure beats a juggler or a ventriloquist! Maybe Cunard and HAL should look here for inspiration?

Malcolm, it's under theme cruises then scroll down and you'll see something about gentelmens, it takes you to a different website, it seems like Regal is just suppling the ship and the entertainment is being outsourced LOL

Malcolm,

Like Geno said go to theme cruises. If you scroll down, it on the center of the page.
It will take you to a screen with a large picture of a ship. Click on Your ticket to a new adventure. You can then select 'Gentleman's Club and you are there.

I live in north Florida. The state appears to be a pretty hostile place for these junket boats. Our city is prosecuting a gambling boat that goes three miles offshore.

I think the government efforts would be better directed at more important issues.
