Those Questionnaire forms you receive at the end of your cruise are an excellent way to tell the Line that it's not for you - followed by a letter to the Cruise Line CEO - - you can write it on board and mail it, if possible, the day you arrive home.

Mention too the prepaid tipping!!! We don't wish or need to tip every Tom, Dick and Harry.

As for standing in line at the end of the trip to have gratuities removed from your bill - we've decided to register our objections at Credit Card Registration time - it may not work but it's worth a try!

Hi Green.....I am against freestyle dining too and think your suggestion re the questionnaire is commendable. And I fully intend to write my comments at the end of my upcoming MAASDAM cruise.

If the cruise lines are going to add gratuities to your bill that should be advertised in the initial cost of the trip. For a couple that would make the advertised cost at least an extra hundred a week. No longer could they say "starting at $799. It would be starting at $899. And they would loose a lot of bookings.

Fight it.

'Tips Included' can be a selling point too! NCL and Celebrity used to include tips in the fare for British guests. As a nation we are not big tippers!

We were given a book of vouchures to give to the steward and waiter at the end of the cruise. If you did not like the service, you did not give the vouchure. No queuing!

I've yet to try 'Freestyle', but I just can't believe that it's all bad?

Green; Why stop there you can always within (28 days) for most credit card companies disput all or part of your bill. The cruise line does to much business with the card companies to give to much of a fight and I feel that if too much internal cost and delay in getting their money they will abandon this procedure or have you sign a voucher prior to the cruise for tips!
