I've recently read quite a few differing opinions on food, service, cabins, and overall ship experience. Without any "flaming" or "bashing", I'd like to survey everyone's favorites in each category.
Mine are as follows:

1. food- any Celebrity ship
2. service- Veendam
3. overall- Horizon
4. cabins- Norway

These are based on sailings over a 10 year period and may be different if sailed today.

Honorable mention to the Norway.

my opinion:

food: Celebrity Cruises / all ships
service: Quality Cruise Service (caters several ships of different lines)
itineraries: Sovcomflot
cabins: MAXIM GORKIY
overall: ZENITH

It´s very difficult to juge about all with only one ship or line. There are ships (no matter which category there belong to) which are very good in some things but not so good with others. Other ships might be better again or similar in other areas.
All ship / line has positive and negative parts. No one is perfect.
Means I also like many other ships and lines.

Philadelphia.......

I have traveled on both the Crystal Harmony
and the Symphony......both very good ships
and a very good product. However, I think
they are way over priced for the experience
received.

I agree with NAL. I've been on 6 cruises on the Crystal Harmony and, while the service, decor/furnishings, entertainment, & ambience are superior to any other ship, they are still over-priced. Since I like days at sea, I only do trans-atlantic/trans-pacific voyages on Crystal - they're less expensive, so I can justify the cost. For any Med trips, I use HAL and the QE2 for oddities (world cruise/Africa to Southampton/etc.)
