Just got back sat eve Triumph 7d eastern carib.This was my 2nd and last Carnival cruise.
They realy need to do some serious work on their attitude and actions regarding passenger
complaints. They fouled up 3 out of 4 of the times I had dinner in the dinning room, last
time I bit down into a peice of glass! Ya, glass in my steak! The head waiter and matrede's
response, sorry. That's it. Nothing else, and they had the gall to still expect a tip!
It's too bad, I have discovered a love for cruising, even tho I cann't realy afford it (I'd go
half a dozen times a year if I could !!), and I will be going again but not with Carnival.

P.S. How do you folks afford to go more than once a year? (why fabulously wealthy of
course ha ha.)

Sorry to hear your experience was that bad. I guess I got lucky during the summer. Just another reason for me to stick with my favorite line - Princess.

Hey Joe, Princess is one line I've never been on. How's the food? Do they have good snacks, soft ice cream machine like carnival ect? It seems like the Pacific Princess might be the ideal ship to go on to Bermuda, tv nostolgia and stuff. Is the Pacific Princess as up to date food and service wise as their newer vessels?

Interesting Mac....I sailed the Triumph on Dec 4 and had nothing but a fantastic time and all good experiences.

I've sailed NCL, RCL, Princess and Carnival and I have to say Carnival is still my favorite.

I believe the service, attitudes, food, etc. all are within range of each other as far as the lines go...some have better shows, some have better snacks etc. but they all rank within the same range. Each line is good in its own aspect.

Sorry you had a bad experience with Carnival.

geno-r, with Princess, the food is probably as good as any I've had on a cruise at this point. Now unless that's changed from 1993, you can't go wrong. The pizzeria and ice cream bars, if memory serves me correctly, cost you extra. Quality was OK. So far, I'd say that on any cruise I've taken, food in the dining rooms is always better than food at a snack bar.

Now where the real "Love Boat" is concerned, I would not recommend a ship that small going to Bermuda on anything less than perfect seas. I was on the Nordic Prince to Bermuda in 1989 - my first cruise! We followed a cold front out and unfortunately caught up to it. I could not even remain vertical long enough to get dressed and leave the cabin; that's how bad the seas were. I spent the entire first day worshipping Ralph, the porcelain god. Don't get me wrong - I'd love to go on her just because of the nostalgia issue, but probably not to Bermuda. Passing Cape Hatteras in a ship that small is brutal.

As to how up-to-date she is, you're probably better off talking to a Princess rep about that. I've never been on her, so I can't say for certain what she's got, but I can't imagine that she's, say, wired for Internet connections yet. But I could be wrong.
