Does any one know of a cruise ship that sails from Germany to New York or even to somewhere in Canada.

Yes, there are ships sailing from Germany to New York but not on a straight way like the QE2. For example, many ships, which go on a world cruise, start in Bremerhaven or Hamburg and then go via Kanada to New York and continue towards the Caribbean.
For example, MAXIM GORKIY cruises in September 2001 on such an itinerary. Then there´s also the ASTOR, ARKONA, BERLIN, DEUTSCHLAND, EUROPA.... But all depends on their yearly schedule of cruising.
