I think Vots is Voyageur of the Seas!!!
I wear dresses/blouses with long sleeves in the evening as I find the dining room and public rooms quite cool on the ship.
During the day I wear shorts, short sleeved blouses/golf shirts. Cocktail dresses, evening dresses, or even a nice short dress, a nice pair of dressy pants with a fussy blouse are fine for formal wear. On Informal and even casual nights I wear pants and a blouse and usually have a jacket or sweater to go with the outfit - I only take one jacket - something to compliment the outfit. If you stick to black or navy you for the pants you can't go wrong.
Have FUN!!!!

If the kids are 15 and under...i think for boys, anything like a coat and tie will work for formal night, dark color or not. Above 15 yrs. maybe a dark suit. But thats just my general opinion.

I think RCI is pretty relaxed about dress suggestions in the Caribbean. Especially for kids.

My wife generally wears short sleeves and spaghetti strap cocktail dreses when cruising...but she has some button type sweaters that she can throw on or off depending on how close she is sitting to the air conditioniner or for walking on deck at night. KAS is right about black or navy...you can't go wrong.

Beaded Dresses! On my first cruise, I wore a dressy dress for formal night. But a large majority of the women were wearing beaded dresses. They were so pretty with the lights on the ship at night. So now I have three beaded dresses and I love them . I have been on four cruises and would never go without them. Some women wore evening gowns, but not too many. The kids can be as dressy as you want. I saw a lot of kids with little suits and ties and formal dresses. They were adorable. There is not such a thing as TOO dressy on a ship for formal night. It's a lot of fun!

Please disregard the comment my husband made after I asked a question about evening gowns and coctail dresses. He thinks he's a real comedian!

I wondered what that comment was about. Next time make your husband sign any posts with his name better yet, make him get his own ID then he can't put the blame on you.
Hope we have helped you in some way and have a great time. By the way was I right as to what VOTS means?

Sorry Kas. Mrs Daley got it and said that my crack was inappropriate. It had to do with the danger of people who use acronyms. Just forget I even mentioned it, but nothing beats fun.

Daly I agree with Kas. What does your question mean and what does it have to do with this forum. Maybe you could post a topic of your own so we could all reply to it.
