Has anyone sailed on Celebrity's Horizon out of Phildelphia? My husband and I are leaving this Monday and are very excited (it's our first cruise). I've heard wonderful things about Celebrity, but was wondering what to expect on the Horizon. How easy is it to get upgraded if at all?

I predict that you will LOVE the Horizon. It is my favorite size of ship. I cruised the Horizon's sister ship, the Zenith 3 years ago and loved it. One of my favorite ships. Great food. Beautiful, tasteful decor throughout. Early morning coffee on the fantail is a nice memory of this ship.
Celebrity was great then. Hope it hasn't changed (especially food) as a result of purchase by RCI.

Don´t worry, Celebrity Cruises has not changed anything on their excellent style of cruising. The only changes which took place since the taking over by RCI are some company-internal matters and In Europe these things are very difficult to be put on the market and to get accepted by the people.
But back to the ship: The HORIZON is a very beautiful ship with a perfect size to cruise to Bermuda and for cruises anyway.
The service is very friendly, food is created by 3-star chief Michel Roux and is excellent, cabins are very well equipped and the ambiance is relaxed through the day and has a touch of elegancy during the evenings. The ship was recently refurbished and added some new facilities like on the larger ships (CENTURY, GALAXY, MERCURY).
You´ll enjoy this cruise. The ZENITH and the HORIZON are probably the nicest of the Celebrity ships ! I spend lot of time on them and I can´t say any bad things (only bad thing: everything is going on in English only; they should add more languages to attract the European market still a bit more).
