You should not take everything too seriously (see smileys above and maybe read again too).
A fire is of course not good but thinking about possible scenarios: Who says that there isn't suddenly more water rushing in (if e.g. the door that was leaking suddenly opens) and on the other hand why should the fuel ignite? Fortunately none of these scenarios (fire, serious leak) happened.
P.S.: I guess that fork lift is not even running on gasoline.
