Made this video of the Eurodam interior during the Lijn open house Monday June 30 2008. The video give an overall impression of the ships beautiful interior. HAL have abandon the Vista style and return to the classic style. But without returning to the styles used a/b pré Vista vessels. She's HAL best i believe and listening to other a/b the Eurodam I'm not alone.

Enjoy Ben.

Thanks Ben,
the interior looks very nice, contemporary and not kitsch (perhaps the Pinnacle is a bit over the top).
I like the Queens Room, not the normal colours for such a lounge ?

Ben, has the Eurodam really a "dutch" feel, comparable to what you feel and experience in Dutch hotels or other upmarket places, or even department stores like De Bijenkorf (which I consider as a collection of good uptodate contemporary Dutch feel)

Thanks for the video tour. Very handsome interiors. Am eager to go a/b in late August. I still like the MS Rotterdam better, but Eurodam is a beauty. From another video, the cabins look terrific....possibly the most attractive of all HAL ships.

What make her Dutch. The moment we stepped a/b she give me the feeling of coming home. Cozy, luxurious and friendliness but never going over the top. Combined with the hospitality of her friendly crew who are there fore the passengers, and Dutch seriously efficiency. Combined with rich materials and fabrics and detail gives her that unique upmarket feeling. That make her Dutch.

But that said al is done with a slightly American touch. but that's not strange in HAL 135 year tradition the American market was always the most important.

Greetings Ben.

Great video Ben!

From the pictures and videos I have seen Eurodam really is a beautiful ship! I really like her interiors (with the exception of the silk den and some other small areas), to me they are a lot better of any HAL's other ships, infact they are better then most ships out there today.IMO.. Also her exterior is starting to grow on me. Her stern is still ugly but when looked at from certain angles the whole ship actually looks quite good. I hope some day I will get to cruise on her.

I am courious, how much time did you get to spend on board?

When we sailed past her on Norweigan Jade last weekend I didn't think she looked particularly bad, viewed from a height she doesn't look as ungainly.

I've posted some pictures here Eurodam Pictures

Ugly may be a bit harsh to describe her stern, compared to Ventura she looks absolutely gorgeous!

Boarding started at 14.30 and you had to get off the ship at 17.30

When you were the first on and the last off you had exactly 3 hours less the the time used for the presentation in the theater.

Willem
who got the same invitation but did not make it to visit the ship

You're own choice and decision. Some other friends who i not notice in the terminal pre boarding, where at the end of the Que. They enter the theater 5 minutes after 3 o clock so they told us. Presentation last 15 to 20 minutes and after we where free to explore the ship and enjoy the festive mood. Most people where not allowed in the theater because she was filled up to the last seat. And where free to tour the ship and enjoy Holland America famed hospitality

Ben.

Yes, and explained before !

Due to the high temperatures in the terminal which I could not stand any longer.
And besides of that, standing in the middle of a great mass of people gives me clautobobic feelings.
I really needed fresh air and some free space around me.
And . . I am not using my elbows like some people did.

Anyway, it's good to hear you had a good time.
