After a couple of days with the low temps below zero and the snowpack as hard as marble, we are expected to skyrocket into the 30's and low 40's this week. Yea, a heatwave! Just wish my heating bill wasnt $206.35!

Yes it has been cold ,but it feels worse after a cruise especially while in the warm Carribean.
We had a few days above freezing in the last few months but NO January thaw.
We have been mulling over a cruise(can't seem to make up our mind)-as to what cruise line.
I prefer the 10-12 day cruises 7 days are just too short now.
We will be going to Phoenix and Sedona in mid Feb. but just for a week. Been cool there however.

Wee bit warmer here in Toronto but not much. Sunday & Monday it was -20C and that's without the windchill. Warmed up some today to -2C but snow on the way Thursday & Friday.

It's not the snow that bothers me it's the ice that's underneath - we had freezing rain last Thursday and that didn't help. Having had a bad fall a few years ago on my driveway (ice under the snow) I am so afraid of falling again that I have stayed indoors for 4 days and it's driving me crazy. Tomorrow I'm going out come hell or high water.

I will be so glad to see this winter over.

Even when it's cloudy and dreary one can be affected with lack of light syndrome--there is a technical name for it.???
But now the Sun sets around 5PM with the days getting longer. By the end of March it's 6PM and then daylight savings time kicks in.
You really need to have indoor activities to keep you busy. I build R/C model airplanes,do jigsaw puzzles, surf the Net and read. Try to refrain from watching TV. Don't be a Couch Potato and gain weight by eating to many munchies.
If you have a hobby --whatever --now is the best time for that.

We got another dousing of several inches of snow yesterday. I took this picture Tuesday morning after getting off work and stopping by the office, changing it to black and white to see how it looked:

Looks like our turn for the snow. Monday a few inches but Tuesday totals could be 14+ inches.
Lake effect(off Lake Michigan) with strong winds will produce "White Out" conditions.
Snow blower is gassed up and ready. Thank goodness I don't have to drive in this stuff. Can't wait for our cruise in March--when we get back it will almost be April and Winter should be over!!

Another 4-5 inches today. Just finished shovelling.
East Coast it's on it's way. We melted a little of the big storm yesterday but we got what ever melted back today. Roads still suck.

Wow. Yesterday was incredible: a perfect 66 degrees and very comfortable humidity, cloudless skies, and long lines at the car wash! Its the first time I've been able to open a window in the apartment and leave it open all day since November. However I see it's back to the upper 'teens again by Tuesday. ;(

We just got slammed with more than a foot and a half of snow. My car was literally buried and I had to dig to get to it. Barely got out of our neighborhood because the snow was so deep.

OK, OK, don't rub it in! Some of us poor souls down in South Florida are buried up to our necks in sunshine, sweltering with temps in the mid to upper 80s. And the National Weather Service has just advised us that they don't see any more cool weather coming down this far for this year, so Winter seems to be over for us!

After the vast majority a the snow melted we got 2 inches today. And to think that I was in Sedona AZ last week with temps in the 70s.
Came back here Sat. and am getting over a bad cold.
Going from cold to warm and back to cold is NOT a good thing. But We will be doing it again soon as cruise is a few weeks off.
