Ideally, I would LOVE to get an iMac 27" i5, however; spec'd out I am looking at between 2K and 3K. I know many of you are heavy on the photos and videos, and if I am not mistaken I believe most of you use Mac's.
I need the PC for some basic home functionality (managing finances, light word processing and excel usage) plus I am a novice at the photo and video editing, however; I am wanting to learn more and use such a computer for hobby purposes.
Is this worth taking a look at? Should I just bite the bullet and get the iMac? Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions are gladly welcomed.
I would love a MAC, but most of my business and design software is PC based only.
Windows 7 is a massive improvement over Vista, and XP home is an old workhorse with most of the bugs fixed.
Dell's commercial systems are good and robust, I have had problems with clones such as the out of business American Computech. Consumer Reports is a good place to start evaluation.
I will probably head to Best Buy soon and spend A LOT of time looking around and comparing, especially since they carry Apple products now (at least where I live) since the closest Apple store is about 200 miles away. Anyone else have a Mac Mini and would care to share their experience?
