Hi David,
Thanks so much for posting all the updates to the comments here. I am sure many of our readers appreciate that. Just spent the past four hours “chasing” her out of the Bay, first at BAE from her lines dropping at about 10:40 this morning, to Pier 32 to see her pass under the Bay Bridge, then up to the lookout near the Golden Gate to get her there, then finally at Land’s End, where she slowly passed Point Bonita and entered a white-capped sea. A coast guard cutter was hovering around the tow and I wonder if there are second thoughts. Anyway, cannot load photos yet but will start probably tonight. Video and blog will take a day or two and the POPE story is just about to unfold, so stay tuned. All the best, Peter….

You're welcome! Always a pleasure. It's like a mini-vacation for me here in West Virginia via webcam! As I spent hours glued to the internet waiting and watching Peter Knego did the real hard work of chasing her thru the bay area getting what I am sure will be some amazing pictures soon to come. After departing May 3rd from SF the PATRICK in tow arrived at the Panama Canal Zone Wednesday May 26th and were sent into a holding patter for 24 hours just outside of Panama City Panama. She apparently missed her original ETA of the 21st due to very rough seas and 50mph winds encountered along the way. Approx 2pm EST Thursday May 27th the tug ALEXANDRA was accompanied by the tug SMIT ARUBA with their tow and headed under the Bridge of the Americas at the Pacifc entrance to the Panama Canal. They are now docked across from the HSV-2 SWIFT near Balboa, this picture courtesy of Ronald Elosge STG2 (SW/SS) aboard the SWIFT of her after passing under the Bridge of the Americas:

Thanks for that great image. The Patrick is a very good-looking ship and that angle shows her lines off well! It is ashame that one of these WWII-era twin-funneled ships could not have been saved for other use.
