Thanks.

I've been seeing a longer and slower-paced trailer in the cinemas for the last few weeks. I recognised some of the scenes from that clip but not many, and there were more in the cinema trailer - a quieter beginning where Donna hasn't yet reconnected with the Doctor, lots of scenes set in a classical environment (sort of roman empire), as well as quite a few shots of the chaps with the wriggly chins. There was also a couple of dramatic shots of Martha Jones including one of her looking very fetching having just risen out of a pool of water (or oil) - almost a wet t-shirt shot! And finally a shot of Rose Tyler looking determined. I still don't know how they're going to explain her reappearance.

You can make anything happen in a Sci-fi script!

Series two of 'Torchwood' (the Dr. Who spin off series) is proving to be much stronger than series one. I must say at times it is a little 'X File-ish' but there's nothing wrong with that.

Martha Jones makes an apperance.

Series 4 of "Doctor Who" is upon us. Episode 1, "Partners in Crime" will air on BBC 1 at 6:20 pm tomorrow (Saturday April 5). Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) returns as the Doctor's new companion. I wonder if she has gotten over her last experience (a really lousy wedding day) with The Doctor?

Yes, she was actually keen to find the Doctor and was searching for him!

So did Brits enjoy Doctor Who (series 4, Episode 2) yesterday?

And finally we're not so far behind in the States! The SciFi Channel will air "Partners in Crime" on April 25th. And just yesterday I watched the Christmas Titanic special "Voyage of the Damned": it was shown on my British Air flight from Heathrow to Miami!

I was wondering if you think I'd be interested in the Dr. Who TV series? I wanted to add the three seasons of the series discs to my Netflix list since I was running out of things to add to my queue. Is this the same one that started in 2005 and stars Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper?

I love Sci-Fi, Sci-Fantasy, and Fantasy. To give you an idea I love Star Trek (all series and adaptations), Star Wars (all 6 of them), The Time Tunnel, Blade Runner, Logans Runs, The Labrynth, Battlestar Galactica (new and old versions), Star Gate (movie and TV series), 2001 and 2010, Sliders, Time Bandits, Quantum Leap, Gattaca, Babylon 5, Firefly, Supernatural, Dead Like Me, Lord of the Rings (all 3), Dark City, and The Matrix movies among others.

THANKS for your input!

The Doctor regenerated in series two (different actor, with a different style) but it's still great! You get Cybermen (an old arch enemy) and Daleks etc. If you liked series one I do not see any reason why you would not like series two. Rose 'Billie Piper' remains until series three, when the Doctor gets a new assistant. The finale of series two is a real tear-jerker!

I'm really enjoying series four now. So yes, go for it!

Note: The Christmas Special called 'The Christmas Invasion' originally broadcast between series One and Two introduces the NEW Doctor, played brilliantly by David Tennant.

Well, here I go into the world of Dr. Who. Thanks Malcolm! I added the 15 discs containing 42 episodes of Seasons 1,2 and 3. Should have them all done by Summers end.

Not taking a vacation this year other than for my birthday weekend; a 1-day trip to Pittsburgh to see the TITANIC Artifact Exhibit at the Carnegie Science Center, then a 1-day deluxe Pullman Palace car train excursion on the New Tygart Flyer deep into the hills and mountains of West Virginia.

Netflix will otherwise keep me busy all Summer, well into Fall. That, and my job. Work, work, work.

42? I only have 41 on my DVD sets. Does your set have the 2007 Christmas Special "Voyage of the Damned"? CBC have not yet aired this episode in Canada, so it is not in the Series 3 DVD set sold here.

For Canadian viewers, CBC TV will start broadcasting Series 4 on September 19 at 9 pm. They will probably air "Voyage of the Damned" at midnight because they cannot fit it into a 1-hour time slot with commercials.

Sorry. Netflix has Season 3 Disc 6 containing "Doctor Who Confidential." I mistakingly counted this as an 'episode'. I think Season 4 has already started in the States back in April. I'll have to catch them in re-runs in the Fall I guess after watching Seasons 1-3 in DVD.

Here in the UK, season four concluded yesterday - and what a blockbusting ending! Probably the most exciting of all four series. About 10 million Brits waytched it on TV.

Those abroad are in for a real treat; there's an old arch enemy, death, distruction, and the potential end of the universe! There were intersting links with past episodes, Unit, past companions, Torchwood, and even K9.

Cheif writer Russel T Davies said: "The Doctor is in danger, the companions are in danger, the earth is in danger and the Tardis is in terrible danger. I think it is the most exciting episode we have ever produced."

It's the end of the universe: the barriers between parallel universes are breaking down, allow Rose to cross.

In the end I didn't think Rose's re-appearance in the last two episodes added very much. Good in 'Turn Left', however.

Lots of questions, suggestions & hopes for future programmes following the season finale; not just Dr Who but also Torchwood as well. But in deference to Canadian CTers who haven't had season 4 yet I won't mention them.

I'll just say the most intriguing concerns Donna's ring.....

Netflix has this really cool 'Watch Instantly' feature, Unlimited Instant Watching with most all monthly membership plans. That gives me over 10,000+ hours of FREE 'streaming' entertainment, from movies, TV series and shows, documentaries, concerts, you name it (thank goodness for high speed internet!) in addition to the DVD movies I get from them in the mail (about 25 a month).

Found out Friday that the entire Season 1 (and soon to be Season 2) of Dr. Who has become available on this 'Watch Instantly' feature, so I spent the afternoon and most of the evening watching (streaming on to my 22" LCD monitor, fullscreen) 7 of the 13 episodes of Season 1: "Rose," "The End of the World", "The Unquiet Dead", "Aliens of London", "World War III", "Dalek", and "The Long Game."

I must say that I was quite surprised on how much I have really, really enjoyed Dr. Who so far! This is an imaginitive and interesting, sometimes fun, TV series so far.

Tomorrow, the rest of Season 1. Got lots of catching up to do. Yeah!

The Doctor who series of course first began on UK TV back in 1963. Many of us Brits grew up with it.

In the 'new' series two you get a 'new' Doctor, but once you get used to him, he's great! Series 2, 3 and 4 do not disappoint either.

Watch out for the Spin-off series 'Torchwood' with Captain Jack Harkness. It's a little like the X-Files.

www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho

The UK press has suggested that David Tennant (the current Doc) may sign for series 5 in 2010, lured by £1.5 million!

I'll be done watching the first 3 Seasons of the new Doctor Who, the first 2 Seasons of Torchwood, and the first 3 Seasons of Supernatural by the end of September (yea, I have no life).

The problem with watching years worth of scheduled TV programming for three different shows in the matter of just 120 days is that afterwards, you need another 'fix'.

Why didnt you warn me? Just finished Season 2. The finale with Rose communicating with the Doctor tears streaming down her face through the closing rip in parallel universes, I cried like a baby! Rose was such a cutie, gonna miss her. Season 3 arrives tomorrow from Netflix. I'll have it done by Saturday, then on to the Torchwood series. I always wondered about Canary Warf, now I know... Wonder if Doctor Who Season 4 will repeat on TV here in the US before coming out on DVD?

Yes, the British public tuned into that finale in their millions. There's a bit more to the 'Rose' story, but you have to wait until Season Four.

David Tennant is presently doing Shakespear (Hamlet) live on stagein Staratford Upon Avon, the bards birthplace.
