Hi everyone, I have had a bit of bad luck, I 'm booked on the Ostend Spirit from Ostend to Ramsgate and return from friday till sunday but the company called me to inform me that the return sailing has been cancelled and if it was ok for me to take one sailing earlier, I told them that's ok but now I found out the reason, I noticed the Ostend Spirit has left and is now in the Baltic Sea, does anyone know more about this ??

LD Lines are no longer sailing the route [wef 14 March] - see here.

I found this too but that's all I could find, no indication of where the ship is heading, I 'd really like to find out more where the ship is going, after all it is a Belgian Ship.

She is going [maybe arrived] to Remontowa Shipyard [Gdansk] to have an internal ramp fitted - [rumour/possibly for the St Naziare/Gijon route].

The ship may (emphasise may), end up back on her first LD Lines route, sailing from Portsmouth - Le Havre. This has become possible/ necessary after LD lines announced termination of the contract for their new ship Norman Leader. She was being built at ST Marine, singapore, and is now very very late, and does not (according to LD) meet the design specification.

I found confirmation now she will be renamed Norman Spirit again and sail on the Boulogne-Dover route. This should be easy for me to sail on her once.

LD Lines don't currently operate Dover Boulogne. The Spirit is going to Portsmouth. A bit more of a trek for you I'm afraid.

That could be for a while but the Boulogne-Dover route will be operated by LD lines Norman Spirit, I just don't know when the service will start, look at the link below and start the movie on the bottom of the page, you 'll see.

Jochen, that clip is over a year old. It is not on the English site, so I suppose they 'forgot' to remove it from the Belgian one. The service ceased in September last year with no plans for re-introducing it. Boulogne are looking at other ideas for the port.

I just got some news from LD lines, Norman Spirit is scheduled to enter service on Portsmouth-Le Havre around April 22.
