Hi guys!!! I've received a job offer for Carnival few days ago.Now it's my turn to obtain the visa at the US embassy. Do you have any suggestion of what is the best way to act in front of the consular officer. Macedonian would probably be most helpful since I am Macedonian and I am supposed to apply for that visa in Skopje. Also take in consideration that I was refused a visa year ago. But that was for another purpose. It was J1. not C1/D visa. I really love this job. I've been waiting for this offer for seven years, since the time I was 14.

Thank you guys. I appreciate your efforts.

what position did you get?
You should have no problems getting a visa, as long as you have employment letter from Carnival to show them, I used to work 3 years for Carnival, not even once I didn't get any problem getting a visa.
If I were you I would not be so excited about the job for Carnival, but then again...I was excited as well before my first contract...

I got bar waiter position onboard Fascination. At least this vessel is stated on my contract. I know I should not be so exited about my job with Carnival but I had this wish for many years and I told myself I will at least try it. Now I know much more for the cruise industry itself compared to when I first read about the opportunities of working aboard.

By the way which ships you were working on. And you didn't tell me where are you from. Are you Macedonian btw. Thank you for your advices anyway. I appriciate you replied so fast.

No I am not Macedonian, but I know you will not be lonely as there are so many Macedonians working now on Carnival...
I don't want to spoil your excitment about your first contract, after all this is what you wanted so much, right?! One day let me know how did you like it, ok?

I used to work on many ships, as sometimes they transfer you from ship to ship during your contract. My ships were: Paradise, Exctasy, Imagination, Spirit, Sensation, Celebration, Liberty...I don't even remember them all...

Anyway, I wish you a good luck! Enjoy it!!!!

I would be happy if they transfer me as more as possible. That way I will have a chance to see many destinations which I can not afford myself regularly. I know there are many Macedonians working onboard but I find opportunity to meet people from around the world onboard much more exciting.
Be sure that I will inform you about my (di)satisfaction once onboard. By the way we've been on same place once in a while since you worked on Liberty. Liberty had Dubrovnik as a destination on its European iternary. I live here, actually I study here for about two years now. Liberty is awsome. At least from outside.

Best regards. Thank you for your comments.
