I always thought this ship was ungainly. I have seen the Victory in NYC. The bow is too short, transom stern is awkward, and too tall.

Here the superstructure is shorter, bow is longer, one deck lower, and an fastback stern.

KPH06 provided an excellent picture to work form. Thank you

Desirod, do you think you can get me a copy of the original picture? I want to redesign my own. Thanks

Thanks.
This redesign makes it look like a fast ship and I like the set back top decks. It remind me of a modernized Canberra.

Great Job

Hi Desirod, now your not the only one to alter this “beauty”!

Take a guess which picture is the altered one by me! I made her stern section resemble HAL’s Rotterdam VI and the descending decks give her a sense of forward speed. I made the funnel a bit more speedy an smaller (I always felt that the destiny class funnels are too tall compared with let’s say the Paradise) I don’t think that her bow is too small, the only thing I altered there is that I made it more pointy. Instead of looking stubby and sluggish it now looks fast. I also decreased the superstructure underneath the mast so now she has a lookout point above the bridge.

I hope you all think it is an improvement!

Best, Onno

PS: KPH06 I hope you don’t mind me using your picture as well?

I feel that the Destiny is the best looking of the three Destiny-class ships. Both the Triumph (used in the photos in the above posts) and Victory had an extra deck added in the forward section (above the bridge area) and that has made them not look quite as sleek as Destiny.
The new Conquest-class (stretched version of the Destiny-class), also has that added deck but seems to look better than Triumph & Victory because of the added length.

Hi,

I thought I might as well do a new version of the destiny class. So here it is:

The main change I made was putting a teired stern because I am not a big fan of the nearly verticle sterns on many new ships. Also I lengthened the bow, becasue the picture got distorted when I was resizing it after I scanned it. Also i pushed back the funnel because of the lengthened stern. Also i moved the very top decks back slight ly to alow for deck space like the one on Century.

Nice jobs from you redesigners extraordinaires!
Pity economis shortens stems and sterns, the most important visual clues to ships!
Feel good to see that some still try to correct these ugly boxes.
How about the Grand Class?
I recon it is the best design, but with a fastback, shorter superstructure, trolley caddie off and proper funnel, you get a nice boat!???
Awaiting...Inspirations, but not too much Ecstasy..just Fantasy for a Paradise trip to design!
