Just tried to access CruiseCal and discovered that it's now subscription-based. Anyone know when that happened?

Overnight Tuesday/Wednesday, judging by accounts elsewhere.

It's a pity, but I'm not surprised. Only surprised by the steepness of the price.

It was an interesting site to 'play' with but if I have to pay for it, No Thanks.

I am sure they could have gotten plenty of revenue (if not more so) from cruise lines or Online Travel Agency advertisements if they had done it right. They may just run themselves 'out of business' loosing that many hits a day.

A pity, but I expect many are like myself. I will use it a lot for a couple of days when looking for info, but then not look in for 3 or more months. For that I do not wish to pay a monthly/annual sub, certainly not along the lines of those figures. Not all info is correct, nor are all cruiselines/or all ship of some cruiselines included, which makes the info incomplete and one then has to look elsewhere anyway. All the data is available online, just saves the time of having to visit several sites instead and searching it out.

I did fill in the first page to have a look, but thereafter all pages were blank [except for the toolbar, banners and ads], not even the subscription page would come up, so I couldn't sub even if I had wanted to.
