I did not apply for this, it appears that all customers who have sailed in the last three years recieve membership at 3 different grades dependant on a points system. 10 points are allocated per night at sea with P & O.
This replaces the P.O.S.H club which was by paid subscription and offered different benefits.
I like to try different ships and lines so have never built up a major record with any one company. Consequently I am never likely to reach the "gold" standard with any of these schemes.
It would be interesting to compare lines and what they offer. For those of you who travel regularly with one line - are the loyalty schemes worth the effort in your opinion?
In my limited experience, only a positive cruise experience and good value for money would make me re-book with a cruise line.
Personally I find the loyalty scheme incentives, that I have seen, of minimal attraction. However, I understand that cruising does have a high degree of loyalty, so maybe it does work on some passengers?
Like you, I prefer to try different ships and lines. I do not wish to be loyal!
Perhaps this is just a UK thing. I understand from other posts that travel agents in other places may be better informed, more professional in their approach and customer focused than the big chains here.
The loyalty schemes I have seen to date are pretty poor and frankly no incentive. Indeed given the generous first time cruiser benefits on offer with many of the lines it seems that they want to attract in new passengers more than look after the loyal ones.

Now how would that work?
Know several people who have been loyal to an Agency, myself included. but I'm not sure just how many 'benefits' we accrued.
As for loyalty to a particular company or not. Yes, we have been certainly, even though we've tried over a dozen. It's more that we like a certain ship/company and where they go. Gerry Herrods operations have always been a favorite - the long Antarctic on the Marco Polo will be the #1 for ever.
At the other end there are the ones we wouldn't bother going up the gangway -HAL, Cunard, the Vandals and others.

However, we belong to Celebrity's Captains Club, and receive a free one cabin upgrade, and preferential embarkation, and disembarkation, which are worth having.
Celebrity would still be our favourite cruise line without these incentives, but they still reinforce our positive feeling for Celebrity.
Happy cruising.
