She arrived at Tilbury on Tuesday, after over three weeks at the Damen shipyard in Rotterdam having previously visited the Sembawang Singapore shipyard following her passenger voyage from Australia to that port.
From Singapore she made the voyage to Europe with just workmen and some crew on board with work being carried out including the removal of all her children's facilities .
She is due to be named today by Angela Rippon, CBE.
She is an adult only cruise ship and will have some pay to use dining facilites on board which is a new service for this company . She will be remembered as operating previously on the UK market between 1997 and 2003 as the P & O Cruises ' Arcadia ' and it looks, from the CMV booking information website, that she is already attracting a lot of passengers with some of her early cruises already sold out !
The greek owners of this company's classic cruise ships still dry dock their cruise ships every year in Holland unlike many of the cruise ship companies on the UK market with the american owned P & O Cruises website showing from three to four years between drydocks !
This classic cruise ship will also have 150 single cabins available at only a 25 % supplement compared with up to 100% charged by some other companies operating on the UK market !
Back on the UK market in 2018, for a short season, is the 1948 rebuilt Portugese owned small classic cruise ship ' Astoria ' which is operated under charter by CMV Cruises and will be remembered as the Swedish owned ' Stockholm ' which sunk the much larger Italian liner ! .
