Hi Malcolm, this is said to be the design that Colin Veitch was working on with Virgin a few years ago and that is now subject of a lawsuit by Veitch. I am not so sure that the eventual Virgin Cruises ships will actually end up looking that futuristics.

The law suit has less to do with the design of the ship and its look and more with the fact that Colin says he came up with the business model and the financial case for the business. He claims Virgin met with him on the business plan and pushed him out at the end.

From what I heard Colin's plan looked at the number of berths and the financial return on the construction. He also claims he schooled them on the business and financial issues.

The funny side note is when I played the link on You Tube the ad that played first was NCL!

Or the powers that be saw the Epic for the first time and decided that just maybe Colin wasn't the guy to help them design their new baby and after seeing that video I would be inclined to agree with them, it will be interesting to see what they come up with.

I recall reading last week that the order for the three ships at Fincantieri's Sestri has now also finally been firmed up. Unfortunately, I can not find the article anymore. It almost appears as if it has been removed...
